NY Works: Neighborhood Rebuilding Corps
The United States Department of Labor awarded the New York State Department of Labor a $16 million grant to hire workers to assist in the cleanup of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
This grant provides funding for temporary employment in cleanup and restoration efforts, and may include work on projects that provide food, clothing, shelter, and other humanitarian assistance at public and not-for-profit organizations.
