The Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship & Training, will conduct a recruitment from August 16, 2011 through August 13, 2012 for ten-twenty Electrical (Outside) Line Worker apprentices, State Labor Commissioner Colleen C. Gardner announced today.Applications can be obtained, and will be accepted at N.E.A.T., 1513 Ben Franklin Highway, Douglassville, PA, 10518 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, during the recruitment period. NOTE: The openings (ten-twenty) listed for the Electrical (Outside) Line Worker apprentices represent the total number for the entire State of New York, and not just for any specific region.

Special Instructions: An Aptitude Test fee of $22.00 and processing fee of $8.00 is required with all completed applications. A determination to waive this fee will be made if prior notification is received and determined to be of good reason. Such as, if you are on welfare or receiving social services, the fee will be waived. It will only be waived if you provide verifiable proof.

Apprentice programs registered with the Department of Labor must meet standards established by the Commissioner. Under state law, sponsors of programs cannot discriminate against applicants because of race, creed, color, national origin, age, sex, disability or marital status. Women and minorities are encouraged to submit applications for apprenticeship programs. Sponsors of programs are required to adopt affirmative action plans for the recruitment of women and minorities.
