Parker-Hannifin Corp. Wayne 80 11-21-2008 One of the area's largest manufacturers plans to add manufacturing capabilities and renovate its facility. The Clyde, Wayne County, operation manufactures precisioned metal components, primarily fuel nozzles that meter and atomize fuel for gas turbine aerospace engines, as well as land and marine engines.
Pliant Corp. Wayne 12 11-21-2008 One of the area's largest manufacturers will expand its facility in Macedon to support new production lines and related equipment being transferred from the company's Massachusetts plant. The project is expected to begin at the end of the year and is targeted to be complete by spring 2009.
QED Technologies International Inc. Monroe 15 07-16-2008 The optical finishing company plans to add 15 jobs within three years. The company makes machines for polishing and measuring industrial optics. They currently have 65 employees.
Seneca Bioenergy Seneca 80 03-24-2008 The company is constructing an agricultural manufacturing facility with the ability to crush soybeans and canola to produce renewable energy and biodiesel fuels. Construction should be complete by the end of 2008. The company hired approximately 65 construction workers and once the new facility is open, an extra 80 permanent manufacturing jobs will be created.

Top Quality Hay Processors Seneca 90 03-24-2008 The company, that takes hay cut from the field and dries and bakes the hay indoors in a matter of hours, is expected to create 90 new jobs at the Seneca Army Depot by later this year.
Unity Health System Monroe 54 05-21-2008 The owner of Unity Hospital is planning to move several departments, including a cardiology group, a women's health center, a spine center and labs, into a new office building being built near the hospital campus. The project encompasses 216 employees and will create an additional 54 jobs within three years.
University of Rochester Medical Center Monroe 1430 10-28-2008 The medical center is building the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, where workers try to turn scientific discoveries into drugs, medical devices and other treatments to improve patient health. More than 600 scientists, physicians, nurses, statisticians, research administrators and support staff will work in the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The project will also create about 830 construction jobs and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2010.

Student Loan Corp. Monroe 89 07-11-2008 A subsidiary of Citibank, the lender plans to cut 89 jobs as part of a company-wide restructuring and cost-cutting effort. The jobs represent almost one-quarter of their local employment. There will be 251 employees remaining in Perinton after the layoffs are complete.
Tyco Electronics Corp. Monroe 41 03-06-2008 The company will let 41 employees go as it closes its Brighton facility later this year and moves the manufacturing operation to Asia. The electronics components manufacturer will close by the end of June.
