Dutchess County
Giannetta Salon & Spa recently opened for business in Beacon. The new 4,000 square-foot spa offers wine-based spa treatments, a full-service salon and waxing. No final job numbers were available.
Orange County

Putnam County
DeCicco Family Markets recently opened its largest store in the Town of Brewster. The 39,000 square-foot destination store and warehouse will supply and distribute DeCicco’s store made food to all other store locations in Westchester and Rockland Counties. The new store employs 130 workers.
Rockland County
(Update) Stop & Shop recently celebrated the grand-opening of its new store in New City. The new store will employ about 170 employees.

Westchester County
ContraFect Corp. a Manhattan-based biotechnology company plans to invest up to $15 million to relocate and expand its operations in Yonkers. The move would create 40 full-time jobs initially and close to 200 jobs with an average salary of $90,000 within three years. The project would also create 100 temporary construction jobs.
Dannon is renovating its headquarters in White Plains to accommodate 50 to 60 new employees. The company is moving its Research and Development department from Texas to White Plains and as a result there will be job opportunities in R&D, sales and finance.
NEW LAST MONTHDutchess County
Healey Hyundai recently opened a new showroom on Route 52 in Beacon. No job numbers were available.
The Anderson Center for Autism was recently granted approval from the Dutchess County Development Corp for up to $20 million in low-cost bond borrowing for the third phase of construction on its Hyde Park campus. The work is to include either renovating or replacing the Malcolm building, two new residence halls and a new wastewater treatment plant. The project is expected to create about 172 construction jobs and about 7 permanent jobs.
Orange County
The Greater Hudson Valley Health Center recently added 30 new staff to its existing workforce of 145 in Newburgh. During the next two years, the health center is expected to add an additional 20 employees as it continues to grow since moving into its $15 million, 60,000 square-foot facility on Lake Street.
Putnam County

Rockland County
Kohl's Department Stores announced plans to hire more than 40,000 workers nationwide for the holiday season. The retailer has several stores in the Hudson Valley Region, including one in Nanuet. They expect to hire an average of 35 employees per store and 60 for each distribution center and credit operations site.

Ulster County
LEDs America, a Florida-based manufacturer of LED lighting recently announced plans to move part of its manufacturing operations from China to Kingston. The company will continue to serve the world markets from China, but it will now serve the U.S. and Canadian markets from Ulster County. The move is expected to create 100 jobs by early next year.
Precision Flow, a company that makes equipment for the solar and other high-tech industries will receive $1.5 million from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority to help the company expand its manufacturing operation. No job numbers were announced.

Ulster County
Partsearch Technologies Inc, a computer and electronic parts company in Ulster County, recently filed a WARN notice with the Labor Department in anticipation of a mass layoff. The company lost more than half of its business when Best Buy, its largest client terminated its contract. Locally, an estimated 150 people will be affected if the company decides to close its operations in Ulster County and another 46 employees at its headquarters in New York City.

Westchester County will no longer administer the State's Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. Forty jobs will be eliminated when the county's contract expires at the end of December. Families receiving such assistance will not be affected, as the aim is to shift responsibilities back to the State.
