Since October 2012, the number of nonfarm jobs (private plus public sectors) in New York State increased by 98,300, or 1.1 percent, and the number of private sector jobs increased by 112,700, or 1.5 percent. Additional industry detail is presented in the table below.
New York State's unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) was 7.5 percent in October 2013, down from 8.1 percent in October 2012.
