    Since December 2010, the number of nonfarm jobs (private plus public sectors) in New York State increased by 88,000, or 1.0 percent, and the number of private sector jobs increased by 90,100 or 1.3 percent. Additional industry detail is presented in the table below.

    New York State's unemployment rate (not seasonally adjusted) was 8.0 percent in December 2011, unchanged from December 2010.
