Podiatrist

Description:

A podiatrist is a doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) who is a licensed health care professional who diagnoses, treats, operates and prescribes for any disease, injury, deformity, or other condition of the foot.

Licensing Requirements:

An applicant must file an application for licensure/registration with the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, to practice as a podiatrist in New York State. Applicant must be of good moral character.

Age Requirements:

Applicant must be 21 years of age.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Applicants must meet education requirements specified by the New York State Education Department.

Experience Requirements:

Applicants must meet experience requirements specified by the New York State Education Department.

Examination Requirements:

Applicants must meet examination requirements specified by the New York State Education Department.

Fees:

The fee for licensure and first registration is $345.
The fee for a limited permit is $105 and $50 for a renewal.
The fee for a limited residency permit is $105 and $50 for each renewal.
