Description:
The practice of veterinary medicine includes the diagnosis and treatment (including prescriptions and surgery) of all animal disease. "Animal" includes every living creature except humans.
Licensing Requirements:
An applicant must file an application for licensure/registration with the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, to practice as a licensed veterinarian in New York State. Applicant must be of good moral character.
Age Requirements:
Applicant must be 21 years of age.
Education Requirements:
Applicants must meet education requirements specified by the New York State Education Department.
Examination Requirements:
Applicants must meet examination requirements specified by the New York State Education Department.
Fees:
- The fee for licensure is $340.
- The fee for a three-year limited license is $340.
- The fee for a limited permit is $105.
