Press Release Schedule
Due to new rules from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the New York State Department of Labor will now publish monthly jobs and labor force data in two separate releases.
The first release each month will include:- Jobs data by industry for New York State, metro areas, and counties
- Labor force data (including unemployment rates) for New York State, New York City, and the Balance of State (NYS outside of NYC) region
The second release each month will include:
- Labor force data (including unemployment rates) for regions, metro areas, counties, and municipalities of at least 25,000 people
The first release each month falls on a Thursday, and the second release falls on the following Tuesday. The one exception is the second release in December 2012, which falls on a Thursday (December 27, 2012) due to the Christmas holiday.
