  • Educational institutions
  • Non-profit organizations
  • Trade associations

Eligible programs must:

  • Train and educate workers, supervisors and/or employers
  • Promote workplace accident and injury prevention

The Board also administers Capital Abatement Program grants to public employers. These grants cover 75% of the cost of capital projects:

  • If needed to correct workplace hazards cited by the Public Employee Safety and Health Bureau (PESH)
  • Where recommended in a consultation report

Further, the Board may recommend safety and health standards in accordance with the State Labor Law.

Services We Offer

The OSH T&E program offers some $6.5 million funding for training and education grants to a variety of employers and organizations throughout New York State. These grants make the workplace safer by training workers in a  variety of safety and health areas. Normally, the Board approves more than 100 grants that range from $3,000 to over $250,000. The Capital Abatement Program offers funds to help public employers cover the cost of correcting hazards that must be abated, based on citations issued by PESH through inspections or findings of consultants.

How We Improve Safety And Health

These grants offer valuable training to employees in hazardous occupations.  We target small businesses that would have the most difficulty providing such training.
